The BCMM is focused on human microbiome research, with a particular interest in accelerating discovery and translation in the fields of early life microbiome and therapeutic development. The Center supports multiple collaborative labs (CoLabs), technology hubs that facilitate microbiome research projects. Research projects facilitated through the Microbial Genomics CoLab will be diverse, spanning disciplines within all schools across campus, and may include one or more of the following: Providing guidance on appropriate sample collection and preservation methods, sample extraction for library preparation, sequencing (16S rRNA, ITS2 and metagenomics) and data analyses. In addition the research assistant, under direction of the Microbial Genomics CoLab Director will be responsible for development of novel genomics tools to address ongoing challenges in the field of translational Microbiome research.

The candidate will provide technical support to the CoLab, receiving, cataloging, and processing a variety of sample types from investigators across campus.
