PhD position in plant-microbe interaction in coastal ecosystems

A PhD position is available at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi to work on plants and microbes in wetlands. 

The Lumibao Lab in the Department of Life Sciences, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi is looking for a prospective PhD student to begin in the Fall 2022. Masters student will also be considered though preference will be given for prospective PhD student. The student’s research focus will have flexibility but will primarily focus on investigating the impacts of environmental stressors on plant-microbe interactions in wetlands or coastal ecosystems, and how variations in hosts and environment shape the assembly, structure and function of microbial communities associated with plants.

Qualifications: Applicants should be highly self-motivated and have at least one year of research experience. Strong applicants will have some experience in molecular/microbial work, and in statistical computing (e.g. experience using R) or bioinformatics. Positions are funded through a combination of research and teaching assistantships.
