Cutting-Edge Research Opportunity: Join the SMBKrause Lab at East China Normal University

Join the SMBKrause lab at East China Normal University! Seeking a postdoc with a Ph.D. and lab/fieldwork experience in microbial-driven biogeochemical cycles and multi-omics analysis of methane-consuming bacterial communities.

Are you a Ph.D. graduate with a passion for microbiology, bioinformatics, or molecular ecology? Do you have a keen interest in the cultivation/culturing of bacteria and multi-omics data, including metagenomics and/or transcriptomics? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are currently seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher to join the SMBKrause lab at East China Normal University in Shanghai. As part of our dynamic team, you can work on cutting-edge research focused on functional-biodiversity relationships of microbial-driven biogeochemical cycles under varying global change scenarios.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be involved in lab and fieldwork, and have experience in bioinformatics. You will work closely with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as with the group leader Dr. Sascha M.B. Krause. The position is initially funded for 2 years and provides a competitive salary and benefits package, according to East China Normal University policies.

At the SMBKrause lab, we utilize methane-consuming bacterial communities as a model system since these microbes utilize methane, a potent greenhouse gas and provide a key ecosystem process that is highly relevant to the regulation of the global climate. As a member of our lab, you will play an integral role in this research and have the opportunity to make a real impact on the environment.

We encourage applicants under 35 years old to apply, as per university and HR policies, but also support and encourage applying for personal career development grants to extend your stay. Chinese written and/or oral communication skills are desired but not mandatory.

If you are passionate about microbiology and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we want to hear from you! Please submit your application electronically to ssa@des.ecnu.edu.cn, including an application letter, CV, and two contact details of job references.
