Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IDSSE) is located in Sanya City, Hainan Province, China. Established in 2011, the IDSSE is a public institution located in the only tropical resort city, Sanya, in Hainan island of China. Sanya is an attractive city, with the best beach and coastal line in China.
The microbial genomics research group in IDSSE was established in 2013, mainly focusing on: 1) in situ dynamics and functions of microorganisms in the deep ocean; and 2) evolution and ecology of microorganisms in the deep-sea environments. The research group seeks outstanding applicants for full-time tenure-track assistant/associate professors. The position will be tenured if the performance of the candidate is qualified three years later. The positions are open for both junior- and senior-level applicants. While exceptional candidates in any area are welcome to apply, the primary focus for this search group is in the areas of microbiology, genomics, bioinformatics, evolutionary biology and deep-sea engineering. Applicants must have earned Ph.D. degree in microbiology or a relevant field, and demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education.
