Junior researcher on marine bacteria in sea spray aerosols

Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) is looking for a motivated junior researcher to study the diversity and potential health effects of bacteria in sea spray aerosols.

VLIZ has an outspoken interest in the interactions between the health of the oceans and human populations. One of our research topics looks at the health effects of sea spray aerosol exposure. During this project, we - together with Flemish universities - will investigate the spatiotemporal abundance and diversity of marine bacteria in sea spray aerosols, with the ultimate goal to link the presence of these organisms to human health effects. To achieve our goals, we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated scientist with a background in or experience with (micro)biology and molecular biodiversity analyses.
